If you’re considering joining DebateDrills, I would definitely say you should do it! The coaches actually care about you as a person, are very understanding and willing to help out, and it’s liberating knowing that there are people who just want debate to be a good, fun, learning experience but that will also work to help me be successful at the same time.

Topic prep and tournaments were infinitely easier with the Club Team. There were always a wide variety of different types of arguments/cases to choose from, so I could easily tailor my case to every round. I became much better than I imagined I would be. Being on a Club Team with nationally-ranked debaters made it easier to prep. Before I joined, I could barely write a functioning disad, but getting to see how the Club Team worked and how I could utilize it in rounds made things much easier. The sheer amount of good prep that you could use during a round was definitely the best benefit of joining the Club Team. It was also great having people with different styles of debating that you can easily set up a practice round with.

I’m incredibly grateful and happy for the opportunity to have been on the DebateDrills Squad. The coaches are all incredibly kind, invested in your success, and give insightful, detailed feedback on your progress as a debater, whether it be through practice rounds, drills, or feedback on positions that you write.

My favorite thing about the Squad is the community–it’s made up of debaters from schools that don’t have big circuit programs, so we get access to infinitely more prep than we previously would have had, and we can understand and help each other through situations like logistical difficulties with our school, tournaments, etc. Being on DebateDrills also makes tournaments easier and more fun–there’s other students from the team to prep and work with, coaches help you with strategy and judge prefs, and they make sure that you are prepared in the weeks leading up to the tournament.
