Raffi Piliero

Raffi directs content for DebateDrills, where he oversees all aspects of the company's curriculum and product development. He received his BA from Georgetown University and is a 2021-2022 Fulbright Scholar. Raffi has spent his entire coaching career with DebateDrills and is entering his fifth year with the company. Under his stewardship, DebateDrills students have had unprecedented success, including championships at the Tournament of Champions (TOC), TFA State, the Glenbrooks (2x), Apple Valley, Harvard-Westlake, Lexington, Loyola, Stanford and Voices.  

Raffi was one of the most successful debate competitors in the past decade. In high school Lincoln-Douglas, he was ranked first in the nation by the National Speech and Debate Association, made it to octafinals of the TOC twice, won the Greenhill Invitational, Greenhill Round Robin, Princeton Invitational, Byram Invitational, and Newark Invitational while also receiving top speaker at the Bronx Invitational, Apple Valley, and Penn Round Robin. In college, he competed in Policy Debate for Georgetown University, where he cleared to elimination rounds of the the 2018-2019 National Debate Tournament (NDT) and was voted a top-16 team in the United States during the 2019-2020 season. He is one of just two debaters in history to be in both elimination rounds of the Lincoln-Douglas TOC and the College Policy NDT.
